Susan has returned from the Norwegian Fjords aboard Cunard's Queen Elizabeth~
Cunard has an excellent system for boarding that makes a wonderful start to your cruise. Upon our 1030A arrival from Southampton we were cordially greeted by 2 Cunard Representatives and asked if we were platinum, diamond or priority passengers for pre-boarding. As we were not we were given the letter B and a comfortable waiting area with “Coffee Cart Service” for those in need of a cup of tea or java. By 1115A we were called for the usual check-in procedures, TSA scanned and boarding the ship.
As you step on-board the ship, you are greeted by the staff and assisted to the elevator and your stateroom. The Queen Elizabeth is a beautiful ship and her photos do not do her justice. After a quick unpack (our luggage was waiting in our room), I headed out to explore the ship and take photos. Of course a trip to the Spa was a must - Plus a treat - I booked the Queens Bath for the week. A perfect Oasis for couples and singles that is limited to 80 people per voyage. Complete with a large thermal pool, relaxing lounge chair area- with floor to ceiling glass windows on 2 sides. The other room housed several types of Saunas, my favorite, the herbal hot steam. Not be forgotten the tiled, warming relaxation chairs overlooking the sea ( a wall of floor to ceiling windows). Definitely an Oasis of peace and calm.
Lunch in the Lido and afternoon tea in the Glass Ceiling Garden Lounge as we set sail from Southampton to the North Sea.
