Experience 4th of July fireworks from a whole new perspective. Board Cunard's Queen Mary 2 and sail from New York to Halifax, Portland
On this stunning voyage from New York you can explore the fascinating city of Halifax and discover the beauty of Maine, from Portland, before enjoying the Independence Day celebrations in Boston.
NYC: See the bright lights of the Big Apple, an international mecca and melting pot of culture, cuisine, architecture and art. Salute the great Statue of Liberty and prepare for the city that never sleeps.Visit colorful Greenwich Village, the legendary Central Park, or any number of world-famous museums, galleries and sights. Or devote your New York time to shopping the big-name stores.
Halifax: A star-shaped fortress welcomes you to this fascinating city. Here you can stand beside the visionary Sir Samuel Cunard himself, or rather the bronze statue that presides over his hometown waterfront.
Halifax gardens is a must-see in the capital of Nova Scotia. It’s a tranquil tapestry of manicured lawns, winding paths and iron railings, crowned by an ornate Victorian bandstand.
Portland, Maine: Enjoy a lobster lunch on Commercial Street, visit Portland Observatory, and discover the surprising moistness of a donut made with Maine mashed potato, in the city where it’s cool to be weird.
Boston: Boston is the largest city in Massachusetts and New England's most famous. Located in a natural harbor full of significant historic sites including The Freedom Trail, a visit here is truly historic.
Discover tide-turning history at the Boston Tea Party ship, stop by TV’s famous Cheers bar where everybody knows your name or, for the simple pleasure of retail therapy, visit Boston’s many shops.
Ship arrives on the morning of July 4 in Boston and sets sail at 2am after the fesitivities (on July 5) and allows guests to go ashore on excursions or do what they like all day on the 4th. If they wish to see Boston Pops, they would (or Edgewood) would secure the tickets (we do not have access) to the event and afterwards return to ship. I have not heard that the concert is audible to the ship. I don’t believe so. For those who stay aboard, from the top deck, we have views and access to the many fireworks displays all around the Boston area. We offer live music and even dancing outdoors (or indoors) that evening and it’s filled with celebration.
